Dramatic sunset clouds over the Kaikoura Mountains, East Coast, South Island New Zealand. Photographer Todd Sisson.
Welcome one and all to my Wednesday Wallpaper – on Thursday – although I’m sure it is still hump day somewhere….
This was made a couple of year’s back on a very productive three day trip up to Kaikoura, on the east coast of New Zealand’s South Island. You can view many more New Zealand photos over on our website.

Red sky and sunstar over New Zealand alpine tussocks from Pouakai Ridge at sunrise – Mt Egmont National Park.
Welcome to Wednesday and August (WTF???).
A little respite from South Island scenery this week, this image was made from the Pouakai Ridge on the Northern flank of Mt Taranaki. Sarah & I hiked up in the dark on the previous evening – fortunately the sun broke through, as it would have been a lot of effort for a photo of fog & mist shrouded tusssocks….
Russell Lupins in bloom along the road to Lake Alexandrina. Lake Tekapo in the background, South Island New Zealand.
Welcome to another Wednesday morning and today’s FREE!!! iPad Wallpaper (are 3 exclamation marks enough???!!!)
July is rapidly evaporating – I must admit that I’m looking forward to a respite from all the fog and frost we have been getting down here though, roll on August…..
This image was made by my lovely and talented wife, Sarah. It has just been featured as a double page spread New Zealand Geographic’s latest publication – Southern Exposure – which is well worth purchasing if you are a fan of New Zealand imagery (not just landscape photos either).
Sunrise Over Hoopers Inlet, Otago Peninsula, New Zealand. Photography By Todd Sisson. This image was taken from Peggy’s Hill, a few hundred metres from Larnach Castle.
Welcome to Wednesday’s window upon the world (well my world anyway)
This photo is an enduring personal favourite. Every time I find myself wondering why I lived in Dunedin for 9 years this image pulls me into line – Otago Peninsula is surely one of New Zealand’s best places to be, on a good day at least….
